Enrichment Director!

This position is responsible for developing and implementing activities/events for the enjoyment of our residents, guests and staff across the Communities. This position is responsible for the planning, development, staffing, budgeting, etc. for all events sponsored by the Enrichment department. The Enrichment Director will deliver high quality services in a manner consistent with the mission and values of the Legacy Retirement Communities and complies with applicable state and federal laws and regulations.

This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday with occasional evenings and weekend hours.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for hiring, developing and managing the staff within the Enrichment department. This includes ensuring staff is delivering outstanding quality, service and programs to residents and guests. Train, lead and grow the Enrichment staff to excel in their job and provide valuable services to residents and other departments within the Community.

Responsible for managing the budgets, schedules and programs for the Enrichment team.

Facilitate the community outreach programs. This may include exploring opportunities for residents in community events and then engaging residents to participate in local charities/events. Includes searching for volunteer opportunities in the local community for resident and staff participation.

Engage and interact with residents on a daily basis. Seek information from residents on how the Legacy Communities are meeting their needs and assists with any ongoing issues with the transition to Legacy living. This may include problem solving with other departments on resident issues, move ins, hospital visits and the development of programs/events.

Work collaboratively with team members and other departments from all three of the Communities and communicates with appropriate staff when an activity may affect usual duties/routine.

Participate in special job-related assignments as may be requested by Cherry Hill Management (ownership) and/or Director Retirement Living.

Perform other duties as assigned by Cherry Hill Management (ownership) and/or Director Retirement Living.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience highly desired.

Five plus years in retirement living or other similar experience desired. Experience in management highly desired.

Computer knowledge, Mac or PC, and associated software products needed.

Valid driver’s license and an excellent driving record required.

High degree of interpersonal relations skills and capable of relating to a variety of people and personalities. Considerable initiative, judgment and leadership skills are needed.

Strong organizational and time-management skills needed. Self-motivation required.

Friendly, courteous and able to work with the elderly in a patient, non-threatening way.

Able to work flexible hours when needed as events happen in the evenings and on weekends.

Able to think, act and intervene independently in both routine and emergency situations.

Able to lift a maximum of 25 pounds and be able to carry, stand, walk, bend, crawl, reach, kneel, push, pull and twist using good body mechanics in completion of tasks.

Must become CPR certified if currently is not certified.

Working Conditions:

May be exposed to body fluids, infection, odors and disruptive behavior of residents.

May be exposed to chemicals/cleaning solutions.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
