Today, Miller's facilities across the state offer rehabilitation services, adult day care services, assisted living, and traditional long-term nursing care. Many of our facilities have specialized units to care for those with Alzheimer's and other dementia or for loved ones in need of hospice care. If so, have you considered joining Miller's as a Director of Life Enrichment/Activities Director?As the Director of Life Enrichment at Miller’s, you play a key role in patient satisfaction. You plan, coordinate, and direct a wide variety of activities to enrich the lives of patients within the facility. You oversee and mentor other life enrichment staff. You are a member of the multi-disciplinary care planning team, and you document activity plans and participation in the patient record in accordance with company policy and the State and Federal regulations governing those services. You may transport patients to scheduled events away from the facility.You might be the ideal candidate if you:Are a qualified Activity Director for the State of Indiana or have previous experience in healthcare ActivitiesHave previous supervisory experience (preferred)Have good organizational and communication skillsAre professional in appearance and behaviorAble to work with a dedicated teamGeneral:Successfully complete pre-employment process and screening.Able to pass physical examination given on behalf of gainful employment within the facility.Satisfactorily pass through required orientation and training. Be able to follow written and/or verbal instructions.Essential Functions:Licensed or registered, if applicable, by the State in which practicingEligible for certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist or as an activities professional by a recognized accrediting bodyHas two (2) years experience in a social or recreational program within the last five (5) years, one of which was full-time in a patient activities program in a health care settingIs a qualified occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistantHas completed (or will complete within 6 months) an Activity Director's training course approved by the StateHigh school graduate or equivalentMeet basic pre-employment requirements set forth in the rules and regulations of the State Board of HealthPass the physical examination administered on behalf of obtaining gainful employment in the facilitySatisfactorily complete orientation programHave references which will reflect work life as reported in pre-employment screening and within the guidelines of existing regulationsMust have/obtain Commercial Driver's License or Chauffeur's License as requiredAble to work with geriatric and/or handicapped disabled populationAble to work as a member of the health care teamWritten and verbal communication skillsWork day, evening, and weekend shifts as requiredKnowledge of state and federal regulations and understands responsibilities as they pertain to theseHave knowledge of volunteer recruitment and orientationExperience or knowledge of volunteer recruitment and orientationAbility to work well with other members of the Interdisciplinary TeamAbility to assess needs of residents and implement activities plan to meet those needsEXPOSURE CATEGORY II:
