We are a rapidly growing team that provides the opportunity for autonomy and growth!Reporting to the Senior Director, Cloud Network Services, the Senior Network Engineer develops and maintains technical solutions that adhere to engineering and architectural design principles while meeting business requirements. This role emphasizes Network as Code and Infrastructure as Code and provides technical expertise focused on efficiency, reliability, scalability, and security.CANDIDATE PROFILERequired:Undergraduate degree in an engineering or computer science discipline and/or equivalent experience/certification7+ years of network development engineering experience, including:5+ years of network development experience and DevOps-related work using tools such as AAP, Terraform, Harness, and Git to deliver network solutions in the public cloud5+ years of experience in a lead role delivering resilient cloud-based network solutionsExperience with cloud-native networking solutions such as VPC, NLB/ALB, Internet Gateways, Transit Gateways, Route 53, etc.Infrastructure as Code development with AAP (Ansible) and TerraformDesign and deploy scalable, highly available, and secure network architectures in cloud environmentsConfigure and manage cloud networking componentsImplement and manage multi-cloud and hybrid connectivity solutionsTechnical writing and delivering documentation pertaining to network solutions and diagramsPreferred:Graduate degree in Computer Science or related fieldCertification such as CCIE, CCNP, PCNSE, CCSA, CCSE, or AWS Certified Advanced NetworkingMonitor and optimize network performanceConduct regular network performance tests and troubleshootingImplement network security best practices and ensure compliance with relevant standardsSolid understanding of Agile SAFeExperience in public cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud, or Google Cloud)Strong influencing skills and ability to drive change through collaborationExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesCORE WORK ACTIVITIESManage Cloud Networks products and solutionsWork closely with cloud architects, developers, and security teamsProvide technical support and guidance to internal teams and clientsApprove and oversee projects to implement and maintain servicesManage vendors for engineering design and technical supportContinuously improve operations processes and develop best practicesEvaluate and recommend new tools and technologiesDocument network configurations, procedures, and changesTechnical LeadershipContribute to managing project schedules, risks, and costsTrain and/or mentor other team membersEstablish cross-team relationships across MarriottServe as an escalation point for service delivery and operational issuesIdentify opportunities to enhance service delivery processesParticipate in capacity planning and scaling of network infrastructureIT GovernanceAct as primary point of contact for Network ComplianceFollow all defined standards and processesProvide input for process improvementsMaintain a balance between business and operational riskAdditional duties as may be assignedAt Marriott, we are committed to putting our associates first and their health and safety are our highest priorities. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus.Washington Applicants Only:
