Candidates must have a strong understanding of Cost Accounting and Inventory Control. The Plant Controller position interfaces daily with the Plant Manager(s) and production staff to support continuous improvement, develop business strategy and understand root-cause of variances. This position will ensure that accounting controls are maintained and that the plant's financial objectives are understood by the operations staff. In addition, this position acts as an internal auditor ensuring compliance with company policies/procedures & GAAP.Ensure that financial reporting is accurate, timely and in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as well as in compliance with the company's accounting guidelines and procedures.Preparation of monthly journal entries and month end accruals as needed.Work closely with the operations team, providing meaningful insight and analysis of key drivers of performance.Support manufacturing with cost and variance analysis, identifying negative trends and recommending the proper corrective actions.Monitor the cycle count program investigating large variances and lead the year end physical.Analyze Inventory Mix (Raw, WIP, FG) and Inventory Turns, identifying negative trends and recommending the proper corrective actions.Assist in the preparation of capital expenditure proposals.Provide costing updates within Precision Risk Management System (PRMS).Support the development of the annual budget.Drive the development and implementation of new policies and procedures.Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Operations, Shared Service, Supply Chain, Logistics, Marketing and Information Technology department personnel.Support Internal and Annual External Audits.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelors Degree in Accounting or Business Management and three (3) year to five (5) related experience. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred. Demonstrate intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint). Working knowledge of PRMS is preferred. Ability to work independently.Physical Demand RequirementsOccasionally required to stand, walk or sit; use hands to grasp, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; use fingers to touch, pick or pinch objects; reach with hands and arms; push or pull; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; use foot or leg controls; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. For all jobs no one should lift over 50lbs on their own.
