OPEN RANK - Accountant or Senior Accountant.The
Accountant
supports the department's daily business operations to include payroll, financial budgeting and reporting, research administration and procurement. The ideal candidate will have experience in all facets of financial and budgetary operations, strong analytical skills and the ability to work efficiently with accuracy.Accountant Responsibilities:
Performs, reviews and analyzes accounting transactions ensuring completeness, internal accuracy, and conformance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Prepare daily general ledger activities and accounting transactions ensuring completeness, internal accuracy, and conformance with GAAP.Reconciles and maintains assigned budgets to verify accuracy of transactions and uniform application of policies, procedures, and acceptable standards.Provide lifecycle (pre-award and post-award) research administration for sponsor related funds.Administers and maintains assigned accounts to verify accuracy of transactions and uniform application of policies, procedures, and acceptable standards.Examines and ensures integrity/reliability of the financial accounting system.Receives, analyzes, and prepares various internal/external financial ledgers, schedules, exhibits and summaries.Ensure details of financial transactions are recorded in journals, ledgers, and automated system by others.Prepares assigned budgetary transactions on a daily basis.Complete department bi-weekly payroll process, time-leave validation, new hire, separation.Manages procurement needs of the department.Performs other duties as assigned.Senior Accountant Additional Responsibilities
May supervise staff.Assist in defining and monitoring of financial critical path unit and project activities.Monitors and delegates assigned budgetary transactions on a daily basis.Reviews tangible and intangible asset statements.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications
Qualifications - Accountant
Education : Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or Business Administration. Master's preferred.Experience : Two (2) years of accounting related experience using GAAP.Other : Related experience may be substituted for education.Qualifications - Senior Accountant
Education : Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or Business Administration. Master's preferred.Experience : Three (3) years for Senior Accountant.Other : Related experience may be substituted for education.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Proven experience as a professional in a diverse setting.Knowledge of the day to day operations of a business.Effective communication skills.Integrity, empathy and professionalism.A positive, patient and resilient personality.Ability to work independently and problem-solve with minimal supervision.HIRING RANGE:
