$51,124 - $74,293Note: Individuals typically begin between the minimum to middle of the pay range.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree and one year of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.One year of experience with project accounting, fixed asset management, and/or general ledger functions.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Financial analysis skills.Project coordination and documentation skills.Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.Duties and Responsibilities:Coordinate and oversee the preparation of HMSA's monthly financial statements and supporting worksheets.

Communicate with other Finance staff and other internal departments to coordinate the preparation and posting of general and standard journal entries into the general ledger.Monitor and upkeep various posting logs.Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for management's use during closing meetings, including updating current financial, membership, and budget data.Coordinate final review of HMSA's monthly financial statements, performing mathematical and formatting reviews, and follow up on all discrepancies with Finance management.

Ensure proper recordation and reporting of various financial transactions for the Association and its Subsidiaries.

Prepare and post accruals for various general ledger accounts monthly, developing estimates of revenue or expense accruals as necessary.Reconcile various cash receipt postings in the general ledger to cash receipts journals maintained by the Cashiering department.Assist in recording transactions for various contracts or programs.Serve as a primary back-up to record transactions and prepare financial statements for all of HMSA's subsidiaries.Develop and run ad-hoc system reports to summarize transactions in the general ledger.

Prepare daily cash reports for management, prepare bank transactions (wires and transfers), and reconcile various bank accounts.

Reconcile key checking and money market accounts.Monitor bank transfers and wires, communicating with staff to confirm they are recorded appropriately.Monitor daily bank balances.Record transactions in the general ledger.Monitor Federal Program (Fed87) letter of credit cash drawdown available balance and transactions.

Review and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.

Analyze for significant fluctuations and follow up with appropriate units or departments to ascertain the validity of transactions.

Lead in maintaining the general ledger system and related chart of accounts.

Add account combinations as requested.Monitor and confirm the accuracy of accounts added by other staff.Assist IS in testing of program upgrades.

Support/back up for maintaining the subsidiary ledger for all of the Association's capital/fixed assets.

Develop proper classification of various capital assets and ensure assets are recorded into the fixed asset subsidiary ledger and reconciled to the general ledger monthly.Determine proper depreciation methods and estimated useful lives in accordance with GAAP, SAP, and IRS standards.Develop ad-hoc reports upon request.
