Position SummaryManage, develop, and oversee programmatic areas within the Division. Provide direction and guidance to staff within area of responsibility regarding all associated mental and behavioral support functions. Manage program with assigned professional behavioral health staff, support staff and activities to include administrative support staff. Plans, assigns schedules, reviews and evaluates the work of staff to include Mobile Crisis Team Clinicians and Behavioral Health Responders. Develops policies in accordance with Local, State, and/or Federal regulations; coordinates programs assigned activities with other ACS division managers, departments and outside agencies. Provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Deputy Director of Field Response through the Community Safety Department.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation.

This is a safety sensitive position subject to random drug/alcohol testing.

Minimum Education, Experience And Additional RequirementsEducation directly related to the minimum requirements below may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Master's degree from an accredited university or college;

and

Six (6) years’ experience in social services or health related field, to include four (4) years of supervisory experience.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.

Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.

Successful completion of a security background check conducted by the Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) of the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI).

Successful completion of the initial training certification including obtaining the Red Cross Emergency Medical Responder certification and all initial requirements therein within twelve (12) months from date of hire or transfer into position.

Possession of any of the following licenses or certifications preferred: Licensed Masters of Social Work (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP), Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).

May work evening, night, weekend, holiday, and on-call shifts.

Preferred Knowledge

Operations, services and activities of social service and behavioral health programs.

Familiarity with public safety dispatch operations, radio operation, and multidisciplinary emergency response.

Principles and practices of program development, administration and policy development.

Principles and practices of municipal budget preparation and administration.

Principles of supervision, training and performance evaluation.

Modern office procedures, methods and equipment including computers.

General understanding of grant programs and requirements.

Pertinent Federal, State and local laws, codes and regulations.

Plan, organize, direct and coordinate the work of lower level staff.

Analyze and assess programs, policies and operational needs and make appropriate adjustments.
