We offer electricity to homes and businesses, and it is our goal to provide products and services our customers love and an unmatched experience that is missing in today’s retail energy market.174 Power Global has set out to have Chariot Energy become one of the leading energy retail providers (by RCE count) within 5-years of Chariot Energy’s launch.POSITION OVERVIEWAs a SQL Data Developer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and optimizing database solutions using Microsoft SQL Server and Azure cloud-based technologies. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that data is efficiently and effectively integrated into applications and processes. The ideal candidate will be within commutable distance of our Houston office.This role will be located in Houston Texas, and the ideal candidate will be within commutable distance to the Houston office location.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Database Development:Design and develop efficient, scalable, and high-performance database solutions using Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Database.Create, modify, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers to meet application requirements.Collaborate with application developers to ensure seamless integration of database components within both on-premise and cloud environments.Database Optimization:Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in SQL Server and Azure SQL databases through query optimization, indexing, and schema design enhancements.Monitor database performance using various tools and implement performance-tuning strategies, particularly within the Azure environment.Cloud Integration:Work with Azure cloud technologies, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, and other Azure data services.Implement and manage data integration pipelines using Azure Data Factory to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into SQL Server and Azure databases.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely data integration within the Azure ecosystem.Troubleshooting and Support:Investigate and resolve database-related issues, including performance problems, data integrity concerns, and connectivity errors in both on-premise and Azure environments.Provide technical support to development teams and end-users as needed.Documentation:Maintain thorough documentation of database designs, processes, and configurations, including those related to Azure-based databases.Create and update technical documentation for database-related procedures and standards.QUALIFICATIONSREQUIRED COMPETENCIESAnalytical - Proven problem-solving capability with strong analytical skills.Stakeholder Engagement – Understands the importance of seeking out relationships and working with others toward a shared goal.Effective Communication - Strong verbal and written communication skills.Agility - Demonstrate willingness to modify position as needed to meet the needs of the business.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s Degree Required in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.Minimum of (5) years of professional work experience as a SQL Data Developer.Proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.Strong understanding of database design principles, normalization, and indexing.Experience with performance-tuning and query optimization techniques.Hands-on experience with SQL Server and Azure SQL Database, including installation, configuration, and security management.Experience with Azure cloud services, including Azure Data Factory and other Azure data services.Proficiency in ETL processes and data integration, particularly within the Azure environment.Proficiency in using Python is a strong plus.Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot database issues effectively in both on-premise and cloud environments.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Ability to multitask and work under multiple deadlines.Eligible to work in the USA for any employer without current or future sponsorship.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSRelevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or similar.Working Experience in deregulated electricity markets.
