Central AdministrationPrimary Purpose:Provide administrative and clerical support to assigned administrative personnel; communicate information to staff, the public, and other school districts; ensure compliance with financial, legal and administrative requirements; and provide information and/or direction as may be requested.QualificationsMinimum Education/Certification:High School diploma or equivalent, some college preferred.Two or more years administrative experience, preferably in an educational environment.Special Knowledge/Skills:Working knowledge and experience with various computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and Google Suite. Working knowledge of Skyward, preferred.Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.Basic knowledge and understanding of budgets.Ability to work independently and work in a team-oriented environment.Knowledge of District organization and operations, as required for this position.Reliable transportation to make purchases and deliveries as assigned.Major Responsibilities and DutiesGeneral ResponsibilitiesProvide clerical support to the Director of Health Services and Director of Science for the purpose of providing assistance with their administrative functions.Compose documents for the purpose of communicating information to school and district personnel, the public and other school districts.Maintain and monitor budgets for assigned administrative personnel.Assist with the preparation of contracts, purchase orders and payment authorizations.Evaluate situations for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.Answer incoming calls, take reliable messages and route to appropriate staff.Receive, sort and distribute mail, books, supplies and other correspondence to appropriate staff.Monitor assigned activities and/or program components for the purpose of ensuring compliance with financial, legal and/or administrative requirements.Process documents and prepare written materials for the purpose of conveying information regarding school and/or district activities and/or procedures to appropriate parties.Respond to inquiries of staff, the public, parents and/or students for the purpose of providing information and/or direction as may be required.Provide support for ordering and maintaining living materials on campuses.Maintain calendars for assigned administrators and schedule events and meeting facilities as directed.Maintain websites as assigned.Provide support for staff development initiatives and maintain professional library as directed.Assist other office personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.Organize and maintain electronic and paper files and records.Maintain confidentiality.Participate in meetings and training sessions as designed by District staff.Must have regular and consistent attendance.Perform other duties as assigned.Working ConditionsMental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions. Demonstrate patience and flexibility in changing job demands and when interacting with parents, staff, students, visitors, and the public.Regular district wide travel. Repetitive hand motions, prolonged sitting and use of computer. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
