Principal Systems Engineer - Space (Hybrid Eligible)

SNC is seeking an innovative and driven Systems Engineer to join our team, focusing on cutting-edge projects within the space domain. This role is crucial to advancing our technological capabilities and identifying new business opportunities.The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support.The candidate will lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and develop high-level ISR solutions in the space domain and will need to possess a broad understanding of space-related systems development. This candidate will also have the opportunity to identify and assess potential intellectual property (IP) opportunities within projects while designing and developing system architectures and requirements that align with project goals and industry standards.This role is open to a hybrid scheduleMust-haves:Bachelor's of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 14 or more years of relevant experience

Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in space systems developmentDemonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practicesProgressive experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teamsThorough understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principlesAdvanced knowledge of industry standard design principles, to include, but not limited to requirements management, Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)Strong communication skills (written and verbal)The ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret U.S. Security ClearancePreferred:Experience or certification in INCOSE standardsDemonstrated capability in requirements management and system modeling tools such as DOORSProgressive experience leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of high impact trade studies and other measuresExperience integration and testing of subsystems, components, and payloads for space vehiclesAdvanced experience with establishing and tracking key Technical Performance Measurements (TPM)Estimated Starting Salary Range: $159,430.15 - $219,216.46. SNC considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.SNC offers a generous benefit package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(k) with 150% match up to 6%, life insurance, 3 weeks paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and more.IMPORTANT NOTICE:This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
