Job Description

The Opportunity:

The American Girl Finance Department is seeking an energetic, self-starting Senior Financial Analyst to join the team. This position will report directly into the Senior Manager of Finance and be responsible for maintaining the financial integrity of the business unit. This is a high visibility role with exposure to various commercial and operational functions.

What Your Impact Will Be:

As Senior Financial Analyst, serve as independent cross-functional team lead on FP&A and Reporting processes and projects. Candidate must be able to represent fact-based positions, run analyses, and lead a wide variety of constituencies to accomplish objectives.

Perform broad based financial responsibilities for the American Girl Division including current year & future year Forecasting, Reporting, and Commercial support

Provide financial direction to cross functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Brand, Finance, Design & Development, Supply Chain) to help achieve Divisional & Brand objectives

Partner with Corporate FP&A & Reporting teams to review forecasts / results to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and planning

Effectively communicate financial results, concepts and issues with Senior Management

Coordinate communications regarding financial reporting and planning processes

Lead and drive in-depth financial analysis related to key business unit initiatives and strategic projects, including formulating steps and executing to successful conclusion

Perform significant ad-hoc analyses by request

Ensure compliance with Corporate policy and Sarbanes Oxley requirement

Qualifications:

What We’re Looking For:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred

Current knowledge of GAAP and internal controls and experience executing monthly close processes

3+ years of experience with an MBA (or equivalent advance degree) in finance; or 5+ years’ experience in a related role

Strong proficiency with MS Office tools; Advanced Excel modeling required

Essbase (Hyperion Enterprise & Planning), ERP knowledge preferred

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Must be proactive, results oriented, and possess high ethical standards

Knowledge of and enthusiasm for the toy, entertainment, consumer products industries a plus

Experience working within a virtual team preferred

Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.

The annual base salary range for this position is between $104,000 and $125,000. This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
