Seed Health Bacterial Imaging InternYOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe primary responsibilities of this role are to:Design and refine algorithms for automated bacterial colony counting to enhance accuracy and optimize evaluating time;Perform experiments to test and improve the image analysis system with diverse bacterial species;Perform data analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of the automated counting system to identify and address accuracy and time efficiency;Maintain detailed documentation for the testing procedures, results, and algorithm updates and provide detailed reports of findings and recommendations;Work both independently and within a cross-regional team for collaborative initiatives;Perform work that complies with safety and health, quality management system and operational policies, and Seed Health testing regulations.WHO YOU AREBayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:Required Qualifications:Working towards a bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Microbiology, Computer/Data Science, etc.);Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail;Familiarity with image analysis tools and methodologies;Basic coding skills in environments such as R, Python, etc.;Fluent in English with the ability to read, write, and speak effectively;Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite;Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Preferred Qualifications:Currently pursuing a Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Microbiology, Computer/Data Science, etc.);Knowledge of seed health or plant pathogen testing methods;Experience using automation in sample testing;Experience with data visualization applications and/or statistical analysis techniques.YOUR APPLICATIONBayer offers a wide variety of competitive compensation and benefits programs.
