Please ensure you complete the application in its entirety and include all information you want considered.THIS JOB ANNOUNCEMENT WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL SUFFICIENT APPLICANTS ARE RECEIVED AND MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME.The Traffic Engineering Division, which operates and maintains the Intelligent Traffic Systems in Broward County, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of System Network Analyst to work within Traffic Engineering's Information Technology and Systems Communications section.The Systems Network Analyst manages network-related projects and provides design, procurement, implementation, maintenance, and administration of the enterprise network infrastructure, which includes routers, switches, cellular, firewalls, and intrusion prevention systems (IPS/IDS). Performs change control tasks, launches and implements any new technologies approved by management, studies, investigates, reviews, and recommends implementation of evolving and emerging technologies. Provides help desk support; responds to calls, emails, incident tickets, and/or inquiries from computer/network users and customers to resolve/troubleshoot network hardware or software issues; provides technical support in the field and after-hours support. Must document deployment, security, quality assurance, change controls, and compliance for the network and server systems.This position requires an advanced level of technical and analytical skills to install, configure, administer, and troubleshoot the Cisco network L2/L3 switches, routers, Checkpoint/Fortinet firewalls. Must have advanced knowledge of Internet Protocol suite, OSI model, VRF Lite, QoS, OSPF, BGP, IPsec/SSL VPNs. Must have experience in packet analysis for security and traffic packet capture analysis for network troubleshooting. Must have experience in network monitoring and have intimate knowledge of SNMP, WMI, NetFlow, IPSLA in order to utilize network monitoring software tools including Cisco DNAC, ISE, SIEM, and Solarwinds Orion. Project Management skills are needed for the implementation of large-scale projects. All Traffic Engineering employees must possess the ability to interact courteously with the public, contractors, and fellow employees to maintain a professional work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes a positive work environment. Traffic Engineering Division offers a four-day work week. Schedule options are Monday-Thursday, or Tuesday-Friday 7 am to 5 pm.The right candidate provides design, procurement, implementation, and administration of the network infrastructure - routers, switches, cellular, and plans; provides procurement, implementation, and administration of firewalls and manages network-related projects. Analyzes, diagnoses, and rectifies issues related to server and/or desktop/laptop computer problems as they are reported on an emergency or non-emergency basis; including issues related to missing drives and group policy scripts. Completes ad-hoc projects based on end user and Information Technology (IT) analyst needs, including troubleshooting and updating and maintaining file systems. Documents network infrastructure hardware, software, configurations, locations, performance, and usage; resolves network issues as caused by hardware, software, operators, procedures, vendors, contractors, or the general public; configures and tests network hardware prior to deployment. Performs change control tasks, including implementing and updating web applications as needed by application analysts; launches and implements any new technologies approved by management and special task force; studies, investigates, reviews, and recommends implementation of evolving and emerging technologies. Verifies integrity and repair of the network infrastructure; tests optical fibers, splices and terminations; turns up network communications infrastructure; performs testing between termination endpoints and the communications hub site to ensure all elements of the network work as expected. Reviews construction plans and permits to ensure they do not infringe or affect the Traffic fiber optic network.Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Requires a two (2) year degree from an accredited trade, technical or vocational school, college or university with major coursework in computer science or closely related field.

(One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.)Requires two (2) years in supporting users and analyzing computer systems relevant to area of assignment or closely related experience.For consideration of international degrees, candidates must have it evaluated by an approved member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES), or Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE). The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary.Provides technical support to users who are experiencing hardware and/or software issues; manages backup process; sends backup tapes off site and prepares new tapes for next backup; tests and installs applications and new drivers before deployment.Sets up backup server, clients, groups, and media for backup process; updates and upgrades operating system, application software on computers and servers; deploys new computers and servers to replace those broken and/or out of warranty.Researches, analyzes, compares, and applies solutions to many technical issues in our environment; creates and revises procedural documentation for installation of many third-party software used; researches technical problems of moderate to high complexity; documents information of assigned incidents and resolutions.Inventories computer equipment as part of annual hardware replacement project; installs and configures computer equipment as a part of the annual hardware replacement project; prepares systems for staff and public use.Opens trouble tickets and coordinates with coworkers to resolve the issue; installs configure computer, software, hardware, and network communications, troubleshoots and resolves hardware, software, and network problems.Performs related work as assigned.WORK ENVIRONMENT
