Job Summary:

Directs and oversees operations and strategic planning of accounting and financial functions, including general accounting, payroll, cost accounting, budget formulation, and treasury. Supports the University of Utah’s goals and mission. Acts as a liaison between departments, faculty, physicians and staff to ensure continuity and quality of service.

Responsibilities:

Perform budget preparation and review for assigned areas of HCI.

Perform financial analysis, reconciliations, and other accounting tasks for assigned areas of HCI.

Understand financial reporting database and prepare consolidated financial statements, dashboards, and variance reports.

Maintain internal control procedures, and financial guidelines and policies.

Apply accounting standards, government regulations, and University policy to specific situations.

Assist Finance Department with special projects and continuous process improvement.

Direct financial personnel and functions.

Serve as a valuable and long-term member of the HCI Finance leadership team.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration or related area, or equivalency; eight years of progressively more responsible management experience; and demonstrated leadership, human relations and effective communications skills required.

This position has no responsibility for providing care to patients.
