Position Overview

The Vice President of Accounting is responsible for maximizing return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems for the healthcare management company known as Senior Care Associate. This position requires a detail oriented critical thinker who can manage teams and systems to optimize business outcomes. The Vice President of Accounting will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This position requires a CPA.

Manage the budgeting and forecast process to deliver on financial and operational targets.

Lead the accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable teams, mentoring and growing them in their careers,

Oversee the activities of the healthcare management accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, audits and annual budgets.

Enhance the customer service delivered to communities while infusing Morning Pointe culture into daily departmental and community interactions.

Oversee the activities of the accounts payable department, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, issuance of credit cards, community associate expense reports, cash control, and payroll processing.

Oversee the activities of the accounts receivable department to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts application, etc. Relay data timely to applicable leaders to minimize aging totals.

Gather, consolidate, and analyze operating and financial results, including preparing reports, analyzing trends, and explaining forecast vs. actual variances and assist the CEO in the development of strategies to implement improvements.

Provide analysis and support of various systems including, but not limited to, financial, sales, and clinical.

Work closely with senior leadership team, CEO and CFO to support key initiatives and business operations.

Coordinate with IT, Operations, Clinical, Asset Management and Sales to standardize reporting on financial matters.

Prepare budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.

Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

Prepare monthly financial statements, financial packages, and other informational reports/analysis. Provide status of financial condition and prepares reports by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.

Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.

Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.

Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must have a CPA, Certified Public Accountant.

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and understand basic math.

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

Must have demonstrated ability to develop and deliver appropriate training programs.

Must have excellent interpersonal skills.

Must be computer literate in accounting software systems, spreadsheets, and similar business systems typically used in the accounting field.

Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Must practice regular and dependable attendance.

Must be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills and judgment.

Must be able to advice and guide leadership staff in all areas relative to asset management and maintenance functions.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree

Eight (8) years healthcare accounting and finance experience with five (5) years of management experience is required, including knowledge of accounting, auditing, and information systems.

Strong MS Office skills required.

Yardi experience is preferred.
