Our growth is driven by a relentless focus on our people, our clients and customers, and leading-edge technology, data and design.Role Overview:Controls Engineering is responsible for building the next generation firm-wide control plane for use in Asset & Wealth Management. The successful candidate will use their deep technical skills to build solutions to manage and implement risk management controls tailored to the diverse products and services offered to AWM clients. The role involves building out web applications that allow users to register, develop and administer controls on the platform.Key Responsibilities:Deliver and design new features for Control Management and ImplementationCollaborate with cross-functional teams of Risk Managers and Control Managers to gather requirements and define technical solutionsDesign, develop and maintain complex software systems and applicationsImplement and maintain best practices for software development and engineering processesDevelop and maintain software documentation, including design specifications, user guides and manualsEnsure the reliability, scalability, and performance of software systemsTroubleshoot and debug complex software issuesCollaborate with engineering leadership, developers, and operations through written and verbal presentations.Lead and participate in technical architecture reviewsMentor and coach junior engineersQualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field3+ years of experience in software development and engineeringWorking knowledge of Java & ReactSolid understanding of software engineering principles, algorithms, and data structuresExperience in developing large-scale, highly available, and distributed systemsExperience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs and web servicesStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsStrong communication and collaboration skillsExperience with Agile software development methodologiesExperience formulating clear and concise written and verbal descriptions of Software and Systems and tracking and managing delivery of the sameABOUT GOLDMAN SACHSAt Goldman Sachs, we commit our people, capital and ideas to help our clients, shareholders and the communities we serve to grow.
