About this position:

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Windows Administrator with strong leadership skills to guide our IT team in modernizing and optimizing our Windows-based infrastructure. This role will not only involve technical expertise but also leadership in developing end-to-end solutions and driving initiatives from conception to implementation. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Windows environments, Azure Active Directory, and endpoint management, along with a proven track record of leading teams and managing complex projects.

Salary Range:

75k-95k - Commensurate with the candidate's skills, experience, location, and qualifications.

On a day-to-day basis, you will:

Team Leadership and Initiative:

Lead the IT team in planning, coordinating, and executing infrastructure projects.

Drive initiatives to enhance IT infrastructure, security, and efficiency.

Mentor junior team members, fostering continuous improvement and collaboration.

Solution Development and Cloud Migration:

Develop and implement solutions for upgrading Windows systems and migrating from Local Active Directory (AD) to Azure Active Directory (AAD).

Oversee the management and optimization of Azure Active Directory (AAD) and VPN configurations using Azure-based solutions.

Cloud File and Endpoint Management:

Lead the migration of NAS (Network Attached Storage) files to OneDrive, ensuring data integrity and security.

Evaluate, plan, and implement endpoint management solutions, including Intune and Microsoft Defender, across Windows and macOS environments.

Security and Compliance Management:

Develop and enforce robust security policies for endpoints, aligning with CMMC, ISO, and industry standards.

Manage security tools like BitLocker for encryption and Local Administrator Password Solution (LAPS) to secure admin accounts.

Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure regulatory adherence and conduct regular audits to maintain security standards.

Standard Operating Procedures (SOP):

Create, maintain, and continuously improve SOPs for device imaging and management, reflecting best practices and new technologies.

Required Education/Qualifications:

Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.

Must be based in the DC Metro area and be willing to commute to our Reston or Ashburn offices approximately 5 times per month.

Experience:

5+ years of experience as a Windows Administrator, with at least 2 years in a senior or team lead role.

Certifications:

Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, or equivalent required.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Demonstrated experience in leading teams and managing IT projects end-to-end.

Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, and cloud migrations.

Proficiency in Intune, Microsoft Defender, and other endpoint management tools.

Strong understanding of network security, VPN configurations, and endpoint protection strategies.

Experience with CMMC, ISO, and other compliance standards.

Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in team leadership and process documentation.

Strong experience in MS security tools and methodology.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of other cloud platforms, such as AWS, is a plus.
