ROLE DESCRIPTIONFocus Property Group is a private real estate investment and development firm. Focus also owns and operates various businesses and is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Accounting Team. The Senior Accountant will be focused on month-end close for each silo of our portfolio. The ideal candidate will be an expert in QuickBooks Online, with a background in Real Estate property accounting and will execute the accounting activities of the organization.
WHAT THE TEAM NEEDS FROM YOU
Full-cycle accounting – Executes the day-to-day workflow of the department.
Monthly close for various entities.
Support with balance sheet accounts reconciliation.
Bank reconciliations.
Support with loan amortization and loan balance reconciliation.
GAAP financial reporting and consolidated financial reporting.
Sales Tax reconciliation and submittal.
Assist with treasury functions.
Assist with general ledger management.
Review financial documents for accuracy and reconciling accounts.
Analyze financial data and provide financial recommendations.
Ensure financial records comply with regulatory standards.
Collaborate with all departments to complete accurate records and provide accounting support.
Gather tax documents for the tax preparer.
Support outsourced financial professionals in their duties as needed.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM
Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting highly preferred; will consider equivalent combination of training and experience.
10+ years of Accounting experience, CPA a plus.
Real Estate property accounting background required.
3+ years of QuickBooks Online experience required.
AppFolio experience a plus.
Knowledge of private equity and distributions.
Thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and procedures.
Understanding of accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work on a team and independently.
