Must be willing to travel to other NorthShore sitesDescriptionThe ASU/PACU Registered Nurse is accountable for providing high-quality, individualized, goal-directed care for patients of all age levels and their families throughout the Perioperative continuum of care: Pre-op, PACU phase I, and PACU phase II.License/CertificationCurrent Illinois Registered Professional Nurse LicensureAmerican Heart Association (AHA) CPR certificationAHA ACLS preferred (must obtain within 6 months of hire)AHA PALS preferred (must obtain within 6 months of hire)CPAN/CAPA certification preferredEducation/QualificationsGraduate from an accredited school of nursingBSN preferredAt least one year of experience as a staff nurseASC, Pre-op, PACU, ICU, Telemetry, Acute Care inpatient surgical nursing preferredDemonstrates mastery of nursing skillsCommunicates effectively and is able to guide non-nursing personnelWhat you will do:Positively contribute to safety outcomes and promote high quality patient experienceManage day-to-day clinical operations and unit workflow/throughputAssume direct patient care if necessaryBe accountable for the outcomes of care for patients in specific clinical care areasGuide and direct a team of caregivers in providing high quality, individualized care to the patient and family, while preparing them for dischargeGuide staff development by teaching, mentoring, and counseling both new and experienced staff, for clinical and customer loyalty skills
