Job Title: Sr. Systems Administrator / Infrastructure / Team LeadLocation: Kansas City, KS (4 days in office, 1 day remote)Full Time / Direct-HireSalary: $130K - $150KSummary:Will play a key role in the ongoing management, optimization, and security of a bank’s IT infrastructure. This senior-level position is responsible for ensuring the performance, reliability, and scalability of servers, server-based applications, and network systems across all bank locations. You will work closely with the VP of Infrastructure and collaborate across departments to ensure smooth operations, while also providing guidance to junior IT staff and helping shape best practices within the team.This position is for a leader in the making that possesses the ability to influence strategy, participate in key decision-making, and contribute to high-impact projects that shape the direction of bank strategy. This role offers the opportunity to influence infrastructure strategy, contribute to high-level projects, and potentially expand into greater leadership responsibilities over time.Responsibilities:Lead the administration, optimization, and security of server systems, including key applications such as email services, directory services, and backup/restore functions.Manage the performance, security, and health of IT infrastructure, applying industry best practices to ensure high availability and optimal performance.Troubleshoot and resolve advanced technical issues across server, application, and network environments, acting as a senior resource to resolve complex challenges.Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to coordinate the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware and software systems.Provide mentorship and technical support to Level 2 technicians and other team members, helping to build a knowledgeable and efficient team.Develop and maintain documentation for infrastructure management, including disaster recovery plans and business continuity procedures.Proactively monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring continuous improvement and recommending long-term enhancements for reliability and security.Influence infrastructure strategy by identifying opportunities for improvements, driving efficiency, and ensuring scalability for future growth.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.Multiple years of experience in systems administration within enterprise environments, including hands-on experience with: Microsoft Windows Server 2008+, Microsoft Exchange Server 2007+, and Office365/Azure Active Directory. VMware ESXi (HA, DRS, vMotion) and enterprise-level SAN technologies.Enterprise backup and archive systems.Strong background in Active Directory, Group Policy, and network technologies, including VLANs, VPNs, and VoIP systems.Proficient in scripting for automation and management, especially with PowerShell.Familiarity with Cisco Catalyst CLI is a plus.Microsoft365 Security experience is highly desirable, as is experience with MFA and Microsoft Certificate Services.Proven track record of implementing security best practices to safeguard critical infrastructure.Strong communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with technical teams and stakeholders at various levels.Ideal Qualifications:A senior-level systems administrator with extensive experience in managing and securing enterprise-level IT environments.A proactive problem-solver who independently identifies and addresses infrastructure challenges.A collaborative team player, with a demonstrated ability to guide and mentor junior staff members and contribute to team growth and efficiency.A leader in the making, with the ability to influence strategy, participate in key decision-making, and contribute to high-impact projects that shape the direction of bank strategy.A professional with strong organizational and interpersonal skills, capable of managing complex projects and technical initiatives across the organization.
