Position Overview

Navistar is looking for a

Cloud Infrastructure Architect

to support our Digital Transformation Journey.As a Cloud Infrastructure Architect, you will manage Navistar’s exiting Kubernetes environment and expand its adaption as a dominate technology for our application stack. This position will be responsible for working with customers to access their Kubernetes needs, working with various teams including architecture to determine if a project fits well with a Kubernetes solution, providing projected and ongoing cost information as well as day to day operations of cloud and on premises Kubernetes solutions.As the commercial vehicle industry undertakes its most significant transformation in a century, Navistar stands at the forefront, a vanguard of the movement. Responsibilities

Manage on-premise and cloud-based Kubernetes platformsCollaborate with platform engineers and application developers to determine where their application fits within Navistar’s ecosystemChampion the adaptation of Cloud technologies within the application teams and businessProvide content lead sessions designed to build awareness of Kubernetes technologies within Information TechnologyDesign and implement new cloud-based solutions based on best practices and group feedback to meet application needs for performance, function, security, and reliabilityBuild and manage scalable, secure, and highly available Kubernetes environments within Azure and on-premiseImplement and maintain cloud-based network infrastructure, including VPCs, subnets, and security groupsMonitor and troubleshoot Azure services and Kubernetes infrastructure to ensure high availability and performanceDevelop and implement security controls to protect cloud infrastructure and data

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degreeAt least 5 years of Information Technology or IT Architecture experienceAt least 1 year of lead experienceORMaster’s degreeAt least 3 years of Information Technology or IT Architecture experienceAt least 1 year of lead experienceORAt least 8 years of Information Technology or IT Architecture experienceAt least 1 year of lead experience

Additional Requirements

Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills

3 years’ experience managing Kubernetes and building cloud-native applicationsStrong understanding of Cloud Services providers and Kubernetes Services, OpenShift, RancherFamiliarity with network protocols, security controls, and monitoring toolsA strong understanding of other cloud provider solutionsA strong understanding of other supporting and competing technologies such as Storage, Compute & Data services, and networkingExperience producing best practices and standards for area of responsibilityCreate workflow and architectural documents from requirements provided by team membersProven problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.Self-motivated and directed with the ability to work both independently and collaborativelyGood Communication SkillsExperience in lifecycle management of Kubernetes infrastructureWillingness to learn new technologies and skills as needed
