AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a talented

NETWORK ENGINEER

to leverage their expertise in designing and implementing integrated, scalable on-premises platforms in support of our government customer in

Chantilly, VA .

A week in the life of a Network Engineer:

Collaborate with systems architects to design, implement, and optimize customer networks IAW ICD 503.

Design and deploy functional networks (e.g. LAN, WLAN, WAN).

Investigate and resolve operational problems.

Work on teams responsible for engineering and packaging releases.

Plan and lead network projects for network installation and upgrade.

Responsible for all network data transport (Layer 3 and below) and overall network traffic routing.

Manage IP address space allocation and track IP address permanent assignments.

Create and implement network security measures (access authentication, STIG implementation, etc.).

Design, configure, deploy, and maintain firewalls.

Monitor syslog events and implement changes to improve security posture.

Work with systems administrators, cyber security officers and CNDSP.

Assist cyber security officers to collect and report information required during RMF A&A activities.

Conduct regular network performance tests.

Resolve escalated network support issues and document resolution.

Research and analyze new network technologies and present suggestions for upgrades for network improvement.

Job Requirements

Active TS/SCI Clearance

w/Poly

DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g. Security+ CE, GSEC, CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, CND, SSCP)

At least 5+ years of experience in:

Working with Juniper and Cisco routers and switches.

Firewalls deployment, configuration, and migration.

Working knowledge of virtualization and cloud platforms, services, architectures/ designs, and best practices.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The hourly range for this position is $120K - 140K per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
