Cloud Engineer
to join their growing IT team! This critical role plays a key part in maintaining the firm's cloud-based systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the configuration, security, stability, and performance of the company's virtual compute environment. This includes regular patching, updates, and proactive maintenance to keep their systems running smoothly.Responsibilities:Develop and implement a robust patch management strategy for virtual serversPerform system updates and patches following best practices and compliance requirementsMonitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and minimize downtimeCollaborate with the cybersecurity team to identify and address security threatsWork with IT operations to ensure effective backup and disaster recovery processesProvide technical guidance for deploying new cloud applications and servicesDocument maintenance activities, patches applied, and system configuration changesParticipate in an on-call rotation for critical issue supportStay updated on emerging cloud technologies to continually improve our infrastructureRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related fieldProven experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role with a focus on compute maintenance and patch managementStrong understanding of cloud service providers like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud PlatformExcellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressureExperience with Windows Server and Linux environmentsExperience with automation tools and scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash)Familiarity with server virtualization, containerization technologies, and Infrastructure/Configuration as CodeSolid understanding of networking, security, and database managementStrong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with team members and stakeholdersRelevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus
