This position can be based in our Miami, Tampa or Orlando office.Position SummaryThe Billing Specialist assists attorneys with the accurate and efficient preparation of bills for clients, ensuring that the client invoices are processed timely and in accordance with the client agreement.Duties & ResponsibilitiesDistribute and edit proformasFollow up with attorneys to ensure invoices are approved and submittedEnsure timeliness, accuracy and acceptance of invoices on a monthly basisProcess electronic submission of client invoices, budgets, timekeeper rate requests and accrualsEnsure compliance with client Outside Counsel Guidelines and fee termsTimely resolution of rejections or reductions of electronic invoicesRespond to client inquiries and resolution of billing issuesHandle special billing projects as assignedQualificationsThree to five years of billing experience in a service industry, preferably in law firm environmentElite 3E software experience preferredBillstream software experience preferredeBillingHub electronic billing experience preferredStrong attention to detail and a self-starterSuperior customer service skills and a team playerExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced business environmentFlexible to work overtime as neededProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteCarlton Fields is an equal opportunity employer, and does not discriminate in recruitment, hiring, or conditions of employment on the basis of race, color, sex, age, religion, national origin, marital status, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other status protected by applicable laws.
