Job Description - Security Low Voltage Tech (3304181)Security Low Voltage Tech - (3304181)Responsible for installing, servicing and maintaining all components of the Integrated Security System, including, but not limited to, electronic security panels, field devices such as door hardware, card readers and contacts, and closed circuit television cameras.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Install, program, troubleshoot, service, maintain and repair electronic security access control and alarm monitoring panels and lock power supplies.Install, troubleshoot, service, maintain and repair electronic security panels used in the Integrated Security System and their interface with the hospital fire alarm system, elevator controls, automatic door controls, and door holdbacks.Familiarity with troubleshooting LAN network communications and connections; experience with PCSC access control systems is a plus but not mandatory.Install, troubleshoot, service, maintain and repair Integrated Security System field devices, including, but not limited to, HID Proximity Card Readers, door position switches, magnetic locks, electric strikes, electric lock sets, exit devices, Voice Video Intercom/Remote Release devices, emergency (panic button) alarms and silent alarm switches.Install, troubleshoot, service, maintain and repair conventional analog fixed and PTZ cameras, IP-based video encoders, IP-based fixed and PTZ cameras and VMS recording servers and storage arrays.Experience with digital video management systems with a strong preference for Milestone and BriefCam experience.Work with Special Investigation Unit to install covert cameras, including designing, locating and connecting to hidden time lapse VCRs.Install, troubleshoot, service, maintain and repair all closed circuit and covert camera installations.Install, troubleshoot, service, maintain and repair Stanley Infant Protection System, including, but not limited to Local Area Receivers, Excitors and Repeaters and its integration with the Integrated Security System.Install, program, troubleshoot, service, repair and maintain LAN networked communications for the Infant Protection System, including Lonworks network cards for power supplies and distribution boards for all electronic security panels used in the Integrated Security System.Other duties as assigned.SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:Understanding of MGH Egress Door Code Compliance ManualStrong interpersonal and communication skillsMust be able to read, write, and communicate in EnglishComputer ability and skillsKeep abreast of changes in the field; partake in formal training programs to maintain that standardRecognize, acknowledge, respect and effectively interact with different ages and culturesRecognize and exercise appropriate body mechanics to move children, adults, and equipment.Knowledge of Federal, State and Local Building, Fire and Life Safety CodesKnowledge of Pipe BendingKnowledge of “Old Work” and “New Work” WiringKnowledge of AC and DC Circuits and TroubleshootingWORKING CONDITIONS:Some duct work, some clinical areas, including operating areas.Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays.License:

Electrician license or Security Low Voltage Installer license PREFERRED, not requiredEducation:
