The Assistant Treasurer provides critical support to the organization through oversight of the day-to-day Treasury functions while taking ownership of key processes and ensuring processes are: completed timely, accurately, and within established guidelines; regularly reviewed against business, industry, and legal requirements. This position is responsible for providing financial governance.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Oversee the day-to-day Treasury function through supervision of the Cash Accountant, providing strong leadership, setting clear expectations, and being accountable for results.Manage daily incoming and outgoing cash activity; summarize daily cash activity and outstanding debt balances; review and approve daily wire/ach transactions.Review debt activity and allocation processes; provide weekly debt renewal calculations.Prepare cash activity analysis to include trend analysis and cash/debt forecasting.Prepare monthly and quarterly bank compliance reporting.Maintain integrity of all company bank accounts.Participate in the annual financial audit process including processing audit requests, preparing reconciliations, and answering field audit questions.Assist in maintaining bank relationship and credit facility renewals.Work within approved budget; Develop and implement cost saving measures.Operate as a backup for the Cash Accountant.Directly supervise assigned team of accounting professional(s). Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employee(s); planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employee(s); addressing complaints and resolving problems.Ensure regular, open, and clear communication.Conduct Team meetings and monthly employee one-to-one meetings.Provide employee growth, development, and accountability through:Delegation of challenging assignments which provides sufficient time and supervisor availability for training, questions, and review.Organization of assignments, responsibilities, and projects.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; with 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Previous supervisory experience preferred but not required.Proficient knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Human Resource systems; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Office Processing software.Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.Ability to make appropriate and timely decisions.
