Systems/Network Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME)

with

a

strong IT background

and technical subject matter expertise to join our team of technical and business experts providing operational and mission support to a SI/SETA mission for a classified customer in Virginia.Our unique team of technical and business disciplines provide operational support for Systems Engineering/Integration, Mission Planning, and Business Operations to multiple functional mission areas. The team is responsible for technical design, operations, and mission planning and business operations for the full life cycle of customer specific operations (from concept through development and installation/O&M).In this role the

Systems/Network Engineer SME

will

help architect, define, plan, and manage an enterprise communication system between fielded systems and end-users and operations centers to support the Network Strategy and ongoing engineer activities across multiple areas. The SME is expected to assist with designing and building out of an enterprise domain, which includes multiple servers providing domain services such as Active Directory/LDAP, DNS, DHCP, and logging.The

Systems/Network Engineer SME

will be responsible for the following but not limited to:Provide SME support to the Network Strategy and ongoing engineer activities across multiple areas.

Provide O&M of existing network systems.Provide technical feedback on contractor's designs.Design, build, and test communication architectures that are to be installed at base-end systems.Design, build and maintain systems: install operating systems, patch, configure, and interface with other mission-partner organizations..Track major milestones and reviews.Develop, review and p rovide recommendations, system enhancements and

test strategies for the evaluation of systems.Review and provide technical designs and system testing plans.Advise on the CONOP and use cases for customer network equipment and end-users.Run system vulnerability scans using COTS scan tools.Integrate and configure COTS systems to fit into legacy and upgraded enterprise systems.Closely collaborate with ISSM staff, sys admins and cyber security personnel to design communications that can receive accreditation and are highly secure.Assist in security accreditation process.Assist in the review and assessment of contractor deliverables.Travel Requirement:** While this role will accomplish most tasks On-site, Monday to Friday **** Minimum TDY travel (

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:Active/current TS/SCI w/ a valid Polygraph is required.Bachelors' degree in an engineering, science, or other related technical discipline is required and 10 - 12 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree and eight (8) - 10 years of relevant experience; or PhD and five (5) - Seven (7) years of relevant experience.A minimum of 10+ years of experience in the design, development, and testing of communication architectures that are deployed.A minimum of 10+ years of experience with LINUX and Windows operating systems.SME experience in network engineering.Experience and ability to design and understand systems such as, operating systems, install, patch, configure, and interface with other mission-partner organizations.E

xperience designing and building out of an enterprise domain.Experience with Active Directory/LDAP, DNS, DHCP, and logging.Experience configuring network infrastructure, Linux servers, and Windows servers.Experience and understanding

of TCP/IP network protocols.Experience managing firewall and router access control lists.Strong understanding of VMWare virtualization builds.Strong oral communication skills and patienceWillingness and ability to do domestic TDY's to contractor sites. No OCONUS travel is expected but is available in some cases.Desired Qualifications:Masters' degree or higher in an engineering, science, or other related technical discipline.Previous experience with the Intelligence Community (IC).Salary Range Estimates:The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees. Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
