ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the timely and accurate billing of patient accounts and collection of insurance receivables. Work with insurance companies to resolve issues causing delay in the processing of the claim relying heavily upon extensive interpersonal communication skills and decision making. Maintain a thorough knowledge of facility, professional claims and coding requirements. Review EOBs to ensure payments from the insurance companies are accurate. Demonstrate strong mathematical skills and interpersonal communication skills to maintain good customer relations while keeping in mind Hazelden Betty Ford financial interest.

Complete billing of insurance claims ensuring policies and procedures are in compliance with correct coding guidelines.

Contact insurance companies to resolve issues causing delay in the processing of the claims while maintaining the goodwill of our patient and payers.

Ensure payments from insurance companies are accurate.

Consistently contribute to the team effort by assisting coworkers when need is observed or upon request.

Prepare refund requests and work credit balances according to Patient Accounts policies.

Facilitate and demonstrate communication of patient information in order to accurately represent transactions with patients according to internal/external standards.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications:

Associates degree in related field or equivalent experience

Strong math and accounting skills

Ability to comprehend and utilize effective collection process

Dependable with good work ethic

Demonstrated knowledge in Microsoft Suite

Excellent interpersonal and telephone communication skills

Demonstrated knowledge of ICD-10-CM, HCPCS and CPT coding

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of 12-Step Program

Minimum 2 years' experience in insurance collections

Minimum 4 years' experience in facility and professional billing
