At Torch Technologies, we have a unique position among DoD contractors. The Innovation through Integration (I2) Business Unit focuses on integrating technologies to provide innovative solutions to customers. We are seeking a talented and motivated Mid-Level Software Design Engineer interested in supporting Human Factors research efforts in support of the Soldier Touchpoint Research Center. In this role, you will develop software solutions that support the study and analysis of soldiers interacting with experimental and fielded weapon systems.Responsibilities:Designing, developing, and maintaining applications and tools tailored for human factors researchCollaborating with engineers to interface with sensors that detect and record human factors dataDeveloping algorithms and tools for processing data and providing insight through compelling visual displaysEnhancing usability and user experienceDocumenting all phases of the software development and research activitiesQualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with 5 years applicable software design engineering experience.Proven experience in software development, preferably in a research or experimental settingFamiliarity with human factors research principles and methodologiesProficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or JavaExperience with user interface design and developmentStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environmentExcellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiencesJob Type:
