R&D Unit LeadYour role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to utilize your extensive skills and technical expertise to select and qualify potential Energy Storage Systems and their manufacturers and ensure Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS) compatibility with those. You will further support new emerging applications around multifunction UPS for ancillary services such as frequency response and peak shaving.The work model for the role is: Hybrid.You will be mainly accountable for:Leading the technical qualification of Energy Storage Systems (e.g., battery cells, battery racks, Battery Management Systems, etc.).Supporting supplier qualification.Working with stakeholders to identify new potential energy storage systems and battery technologies.Supporting certification of batteries and systems for the American and IEC standards.Supporting new emerging applications and technical knowhow on batteries.Identifying and communicating energy storage requirements.Qualifications for the role

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5 years of relevant Engineering experience.Must have experience with energy storage systems and batteries.Experience working with electrical systems or demonstrate the aptitude to learn complex power electronic systems.Knowledge and experience with Agile methodology is a plus.Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.More about us
