Job Summary:

The Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks to fill tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in cellular engineering or tissue engineering. A candidate whose research complements the department's existing strengths in Neuroengineering, Biomechanics, Biomedical imaging and optics, and Medical Micro technologies would be of particular interest. The candidate's research should have clear implications for improving human health. The ideal candidate will be interested in collaborative work with existing centers and faculty in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and throughout campus.Responsibilities:

Developing an innovative research program in cellular engineering or tissue engineering; teaching and developing undergraduate and graduate courses in Biomedical Engineering; mentoring graduate students and supervising their research; participating in departmental and university faculty governance; participating in outreach and service in industry and government; and contributing to professional and public service.Institutional Statement on Diversity:

Required: PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences or related field, with demonstrated excellence in research and teaching appropriate for an early career assistant professor.Qualifications:

Candidates will have a demonstrated record of academic achievement such as peer-reviewed publications and grant awards appropriate for early career academics, exceptional potential in establishing a world-class research program in cellular engineering and/or tissue engineering, and a commitment to high-quality and inclusive undergraduate and graduate teaching, learning, and mentoring.Work Type:
