Job DescriptionSpeech Language Pathologist III (Pipeline Requisition) - (240001DC)This is a pipeline requisition. Qualified candidates will be contacted at a later date for consideration.MD, VA, DC Locations.Under the direction of the Speech Director/Division Chair, the Speech-Language Pathologist III will be responsible for evaluating speech/language of children and providing remediation for children with communication disorders.QualificationsEducation:

Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology (Required)Minimum Work Experience:

At least 6 years of experience as a provider.Required Skills/Knowledge:Demonstrated flexibility in the evaluation process. Shows knowledge of counseling techniques, empathy, and caring. Demonstrates knowledge of theoretical application and cultural/linguistic diversity. Must be available for student/trainee shadowing. Triages questions from staff, outside hospitals, and physicians. Involved in extra division projects that promote the enhancement and dissemination of speech knowledge.Required Licenses and Certifications:Speech-Language Pathologist.Functional AccountabilitiesPatient Evaluation:Evaluate patients using standard and special procedures.Use appropriate protocol for age and disorder, completing it in a timely fashion.Show skills for a variety of disorders and test instruments.Use knowledge of cultural linguistic features appropriately in the diagnostic process.Use translators when appropriate; demonstrate use of appropriate language when necessary.Adapt procedures for specialized disorders (e.g., stuttering, alternative/augmentative communication, bilingual, etc.).Schedules/Self-Management:Take initiative to maintain schedule.Show flexibility with schedule changes.Plan ahead for changes to schedule.Consistently meet or exceed department standards for patient contact hours.Test Results/Clinical Reports:Report test results accurately using appropriate format.Remediation Services:Deliver therapy in an appropriate manner.Use knowledge of theoretical application with patients.Prepare therapy progress reports, discharge summaries, and insurance requests based on documented child performance within the timeframe.Show productivity in patient progress.Recognize the need for future counseling and know when to refer patients.Organizational AccountabilitiesOrganizational Commitment/Identification:Anticipate and respond to customer needs; follow up until needs are met.Teamwork/Communication:Demonstrate collaborative and respectful behavior.Partner with all team members to achieve goals.Be receptive to others’ ideas and opinions.Performance Improvement/Problem-solving:Contribute to a positive work environment.Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to change.Identify opportunities to improve clinical and administrative processes.Make appropriate decisions using sound judgment.Cost Management/Financial Responsibility:Use resources efficiently.Search for less costly ways of doing things.Safety:
