This is a temporary position for at least 6 months, with the potential for full-time employment for the right candidate.The Systems Engineer is responsible for the design and ongoing support for the enterprise cloud productivity platforms, which includes voice systems, Microsoft 365 productivity suite, and other cloud-based software technologies.This role will focus on proactive management, configuration, and troubleshooting of Microsoft 365 services across all relevant modules to ensure seamless user experiences and optimal performance:Microsoft Exchange OnlineMicrosoft Exchange hybrid on premisesMicrosoft SharePoint OnlineMicrosoft TeamsMicrosoft OneDrive for BusinessMicrosoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)Microsoft Azure Active DirectoryESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of Microsoft 365 updates, new features, and enhancements. Recommend and implement improvements to optimize the use of Microsoft 365 services.Participating in the planning and implementation of cloud-based solutions to ensure the business needs are metExperience with Microsoft 365 migrations, Intune, MDM, Autopilot and Teams TelephonyMaintains documentation, technical schematics, and equipment configuration for proper record of systems design and recovery purposesImplements strategic application and security designs while following best practicesEnsures maintenance of current environment and lifecycle managementPrepares technical designs, project plans, schedule, resource, and financial estimatesWorks in large-scale infrastructure projectsDevelops roadmaps and identifies emerging technologies to meet business requirementsEnsures asset inventory and technical schematics are developed and maintainedResearches modern technologies, stays up to date on advancements in the fieldOversees implementations, including setting schedules and change managementRecommends continuous improvement, process improvement and automation to drive efficienciesResearches, develops, and implements new technologies and practicesResolves Level 2 and Level 3 incidents and requestsAligns technical solutions proposed align to IT Strategy and technical solutionsDesigns recovery and resiliency solutions, participating in Disaster Recovery exercisesEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience5+ years of experience working with Microsoft 365 servicesAdvanced knowledge in Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, and Exchange OnlineStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsDeep understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and supporting infrastructure technologies.Strong scripting/automation skills such as PowerShell.Experience managing projects and communicating effectively with technical and non-technical usersExperience in vendor management and technology evaluation processDemonstrated solid written and oral communication skills.Solid analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving and fact-based decision-making abilities.Solid self-awareness and a willingness to grow professional and technical skillsProven ability to work in a complex, fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environmentAbility to maintain a high level of productivity in a fast-paced, team environment while managing multiple competing prioritiesAbility to work on-call or non-standard business hours as neededIndustry certifications preferred (Microsoft, VMware)ITIL certification or working knowledge
