The primary responsibilities of the
Network Engineer
include maintaining and deploying wired IP network infrastructure for Ardent Health Services. This encompasses troubleshooting network problems, resolving trouble tickets, and creating network documentation. This position will work closely with other members of the Ardent technology team to support the overall mission of the company and its strategic business initiatives.Responsibilities
Maintain and deploy Cisco LAN / WAN networks in Ardent hospitals, clinics, and officesCollaborate with IT Architects in design/implementation strategiesCreate and maintain network documentationImplement network hardware / software per design standardsPrepare and execute change scriptsEnsure that proposed solutions comply with vendor best practices and align with business goalsQualifications
Education and Experience:Required: Associates’ degree in Information Systems / Computer Science or equivalent technical trainingActive CCNA certification requiredMinimum of 5 years of experience working in Information Systems, preferably in the health care industryMinimum of 3 years of experience with Cisco routing, switching and wireless productsConfiguration and troubleshooting experience with complex WLAN, LAN, and WAN networksTroubleshooting of Cisco and Meraki wireless networksConfiguration of WAN technologies including MPLS, DMVPN, OSPF and BGPConfiguration of SD-WAN technologies including Fortinet and MerakiConfiguration of LAN technologies including PVST, Ether-channel/Port Channels, VSS, VSL, Dot1.Q Trunking, and Cisco Catalyst Switch stacksKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Must have good communication skills: both oral and writtenAbility to work on multiple simultaneous projectsAttention to detailsAbility to think outside the box on complex issuesMust display the ability to be a team player and work well with employees at all levelsSolid understanding of the OSI ModelSolid subnetting skillsBasic understanding of Wireshark packet capturesProficient with DNS, DHCP, configuration and troubleshootingBasic understanding of QOS/COS technology and functionsAdditional Requirements:Must be able to lift items that are approximately 50 poundsMust be willing to travelMust be willing to participate in an on-call rotation schedule
