The Hays Area Children's Center is looking for a NEW Director to lead their center!

The right candidate will need experience in childcare and a passion for advocating for high-quality childcare in our community.

The Hays Area Children’s Center (HACC) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) childcare facility that offers care for more than 80 children that range in age from zero to school age in our community. We have a long-standing history in the community and are dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow. We provide a variety of age-appropriate activities that encourage children to explore, learn, and grow in all areas of development. We believe that every child is unique and deserves to be respected and valued.

As the Director you will manage daily operations of the childcare facility, such as managing enrollment, inquiries, communication with parents, and KDHE requirements for licensure. You will also work directly with teachers and paras for job schedules, hiring, and classroom coaching. Other duties include overseeing and reporting on the overall financials and budget to the board, as well as coordinating fundraising and PR activities to promote the Center and its mission. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree plus one (1) year of experience in childcare or early childhood education. OR five (5) years of experience in childcare or early childhood education. A successful candidate must pass a criminal background check, complete a health assessment, and have a negative TB skin test.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in an office setting.

Good oral and written communication.

Managerial experience.

Passion for promoting childcare services through fundraising, grant writing, and public relations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

30% Day-to-Day Center operations

Manage childcare enrollment inquiries, waitlists, and facility tours.

Collaborate with Program Directors to ensure compliance with KDHE requirements.

Assist with personnel operations, file maintenance, monitor completion of documentation for KDHE requirements, annual staff development hours, and job description reviews.

Renew annual licenses for both Main Building and Preschool.

Communicate with parents.

Prepare board meeting agenda and needed reports/forms and upload to Trello.

Maintain student records in current platform.

30% Staff Management

Coordinate orientation for new employees and manage job assignments and schedules.

Conduct hiring of new employees for childcare at the Center.

Coordinate childcare enrollment process and maintain student enrollment files in accordance with Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) childcare licensing requirements.

Conflict Management

25% Financial

Manage HACC budget.

Identify and write grant applications for childcare at the Center.

Facilitate donations for childcare at the Center.

15% PR and Marketing

Develop advertisements for Center openings for staff and children.

Maintain Center Facebook Page and website for childcare at the Center.

Coordinate development activities, including planning, marketing, and staffing social and fundraising events.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
