Description

As Dynamics Engineer, you will provide technical expertise in the areas of rotorcraft structural dynamics, drive system dynamics, rotor dynamics, acoustics, control theory, orbital mechanics, optimization, and software development to the team.

Key Responsibilities

Create analysis tools to perform trajectory design, optimization, and dispersion analysis.Develop highly reliable and performant GNC algorithms, simulations, tools, services, and dashboards using C++ or Python.Develop new mission analysis capabilities for rendezvous and proximity operations.Lead development into new algorithms, processes, and tools.Develop additional modules to current tools to optimize performance and runtime.Write high-quality technical documentation of programs, algorithms, or analysis.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, math, or scientific discipline.2+ years in a software engineering role with Python and Python-based development frameworks.Demonstrated experience working directly on engineering or scientific computing problems.Strong understanding of orbital mechanics, including low thrust trajectory optimization and station keeping.Demonstrated experience in verifying GNC algorithm performance via simulation, and validation of the simulation's models.Experience implementing optimization algorithms.Ability to work in a fast-paced, autonomously driven, and demanding start-up atmosphere.Knowledge of:Advance orbit dynamics (N-Body Problem).Analytical and numerical methods.Optimization techniques.System dynamics and controls analysis.Propulsion systems.Must be able to obtain a Secret and/or a TS/SCI clearance.Preferred Qualifications:Experience implementing machine learning or AI algorithms.Demonstrated project or professional experience in launch vehicle and/or spacecraft systems.Creative approach to problem solving, exceptional analytical skills, and engineering fundamentals.Cradle-to-grave development of three-axis stabilized spacecraft incorporating momentum, magnetic, and propulsive control.Passion for advancing the commercial space industry.Experience in mission operations and orbit-raising planning.Low-thrust mission planning and trajectory analysis.Rendezvous and proximity operations analysis.Capable of identifying and solving complex problems with little to no supervision or direction.Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed.ITAR Requirements:This position may include access to technology and/or software source code that is subject to U.S. export controls.
