Our dedicated and compassionate employees are driven by a common mission: To deliver the cures of tomorrow to the people who need them today.We have an exciting opportunity to join City of Hope as a Per Diem Radiation Oncology RN who provides care in the outpatient clinic at our Torrance Community Practice. The nurse will support two Radiation Oncologists in partnership with a second RN.Responsibilities:
Support providers with consults and follow-ups.Perform patient education.Start IVs for CT simulations with contrast and coordinate chemotherapy.Triage patient concerns related to their radiation therapy treatments and care-related questions on side effects and wound care.Assist in coordinating PEG tube placement and dental clearance for head and neck patients.Assist in the radiation oncology care plan for cardiac devices.Navigate the patient and caregivers through any barriers to care to aid in providing timely treatment, acting as a liaison with other service lines (e.g., financial counselors, social services, transportation).Support the patient and caregivers in quality-of-life goals and survivorship.Act as a liaison between research team and radiation oncology team for clinical trial patients, including identifying patients for precision medicine, genetic, and available trials.Additional Information:
8 hour shift, Monday - Friday. May need to support as early as 7am and as late as 7pm on rare occasions. $61.72/HR flat rate.Qualifications:
Your qualifications should include:Associates degree in nursing required.0 - 3 years of experience as an RN.Current California Registered Nurse License.Current BLS card through the American Heart Association (AHA).Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of experience in a physician office or hospital.One (1) year radiation oncology experience.EMR experience preferred (EPIC).City of Hope is an equal opportunity employer.
