Job Summary

As a Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of key software applications that drive our operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable, and secure software solutions that align with the dynamic needs of our business. This role requires a deep understanding of software development principles, a passion for continuous learning, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain software applications that meet the evolving needs of the business.

Collaborate with business analysts, stakeholders, and team members to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into technical solutions.

Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including planning, design, coding, testing, deployment, and support.

Write clean, maintainable, secure and well-documented code using industry-standard languages and frameworks such as Microsoft .Net, .Net Core, C#, and Oracle PL/SQL (or equivalent technologies).

Ensure software solutions adhere to industry best practices and IT security frameworks, implementing secure coding practices throughout the development process.

Advocate for and implement modern software development methodologies, including Agile and DevOps practices.

Collaborate with system engineers to design and implement cross platform applications, leveraging the containerization technologies to enhance scalability and agility.

Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and ensuring coding standards are met.

Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize existing software applications to improve performance and reliability.

Stay current with emerging software development trends and technologies, including containerization and microservices.

Work with global teams, understanding and accommodating the challenges of offshoring and outsourcing software development.

Assist in the integration of third-party software and services, ensuring seamless operation within existing systems.

Document technical specifications and user guides to ensure easy handoff and future reference.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

3-4 years of hands-on experience in software development with a strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.

Proficiency in Microsoft .Net, .NET Core, C#, and Oracle PL/SQL (or equivalent technologies).

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is highly desirable.

Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Strong understanding of software security standards and practices.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Experience in offshoring overseas development teams is a plus.

Experience in the Wholesale/Retail industry is advantageous.

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
