Purpose of your Job

Our Commercial Organization in the US is looking for a highly motivated

Business Development Director

to help establish new business relationships and expand our client portfolio within the US market, with a focus on the East Coast, particularly in Massachusetts/Boston. Reporting directly to senior management, the primary goal of this role is to develop new business opportunities and increase sales for Coriolis, particularly through attracting new clients in the biopharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors.

Lead Generation & Client Acquisition:

Proactively identify and approach potential new clients, particularly in the biopharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors, with a focus on CDMO services. Develop a

robust client acquisition strategy

targeting key industry players, with tailored offerings and outreach initiatives.

Strategic Business Development:

Build and maintain a

tight network

with opinion leaders, biotech companies, and pharmaceutical clients to foster new business. Monitor industry trends

and technological advancements in the biopharmaceutical space, identifying new market opportunities.

Client Representation & Sales Expansion:

Act as the

face of Coriolis

at industry conferences, roadshows, and client visits to strengthen brand awareness and grow the sales pipeline. Represent Coriolis during high-level meetings with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with corporate growth goals.

Proposal Development & Contract Negotiation:

Participate in technical discussions,

develop tailored proposals , and lead the negotiation of contracts covering IP, liability, pricing, and payments. Support the

end-to-end sales process , ensuring that requests are handled efficiently and prioritized by their strategic relevance.

Customer Relationship Management:

Ensure strong, long-term relationships with clients by providing excellent customer service and ensuring high levels of satisfaction. Work closely with internal teams (BD, Project Management, Product- and Service Management) to develop solutions tailored to client needs.

Market Analysis & Reporting:

Evaluate market trends

and opportunities, using data-driven insights to adjust strategies and respond to emerging business needs. Regularly track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to signed contracts, pipeline growth, and approval rates to identify trends and areas for improvement.

What you need to succeed

Education:

Master’s degree, PhD, or comparable higher education in a scientific field (pharmacy, biology, biotechnology, chemistry, etc.). Experience:

At least 10 years of professional experience in

Sales/Business Development

within the biopharmaceutical sector, with a strong focus on

CDMO services . Industry Knowledge:

Extensive experience with

Drug Substance

or

Drug Product Manufacturing Services ,

Formulation Development , and

non-GMP/GMP Analytical Services . Skills:

Excellent communication, networking, presentation, and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to attract and manage client relationships. Teamwork:

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure business success. Flexibility:

Willingness to travel to drive business, particularly across the East Coast and other parts of the US. Language Skills:

Fluency in English is essential; additional languages (e.g., German, Spanish, French) are a plus. Invest in yourself
