About The Role
We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer to help lead Enrollment and Onboarding initiatives. This fullstack team helps applicants and members navigate our complex set of programs to find the right treatment for their condition by asking the minimum amount of information necessary to enroll and get started right away. Once enrolled, this team additionally owns the flows for newly-onboarded members to take their first steps towards forming a sustainable habit of movement (ET), by building their ability & motivation throughout their first 1-2 weeks in the program.
Backend engineers at Hinge Health contribute to their team’s success by architecting and implementing end-to-end solutions, well-tested performant APIs and data models. In addition, engineers will profile their systems to stay out ahead of scaling bottlenecks, and help maintain a high bar with thoughtful and constructive code reviews. The ideal candidate thrives in a highly collaborative, cross functional environment.
We enjoy a continuous deployment DevOps culture, and take owner-operator pride in supporting our code in production. Our production systems rely on React Native, React, Node.js, TypeScript, Nestjs, GraphQL, Docker, Rails, AWS, Postgres, Redis, Apollo, and Redux. 5+ years of non-internship full time professional software development experience.2+ years of experience in designing and working in microservice based architecture, developing APIs and implementing scalable backend systems.2+ years of experience in debugging complex issues, designing new features, or improving existing systems.Experience in mentoring and leading junior team members, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, and contributing to project planning and decision-making.Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical degree.3+ years of software engineering experience focused on backend/platform.1+ years of experience in TypeScript, Nestjs, GraphQL, Node.js, relational (e.g., SQL) databases, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Redis and workflow trunk-based CI/CD.1+ years of experience in React or React Native.1+ years of software engineering experience focused on frontend.CompensationThis position will have an annual salary, plus equity and benefits. Please note the annual salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
