Director of Med/Surg, ICU . This facility, located in the heart of Vernal, Utah, is a 39-bed hospital nestled in an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise. Residents enjoy a range of activities like fishing, hiking, skiing, and more, with easy access to both Salt Lake City and Denver.
Position Overview :The Director of Med/Surg, ICU is accountable for managing Medical Surgical and ICU services, ensuring top-notch, efficient patient care, overseeing nursing staff, and driving departmental goals. This leadership role is key in maintaining compliance with healthcare standards while fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
Core Responsibilities :
Lead the nursing team by providing guidance, education, and mentorship to support the overall department goals.
Collaborate across teams to ensure seamless patient care and positive outcomes.
Oversee nursing competency programs, process improvement initiatives, infection control protocols, and employee health and safety measures.
Ensure all staff members meet licensure and competency requirements.
Maintain compliance with accreditation standards set by regulatory agencies such as TJC and CMS.
Drive process improvements, ensuring consistent adherence to Infection Control standards.
Manage staffing levels based on patient census, acuity, and staff skills.
Address and resolve staff, physician, patient, and family concerns proactively.
Participate in utilization review and contribute to clinical processes.
Key Qualifications :
Valid Utah RN license at hire.
Proven experience in Med/Surg or ICU nursing.
Minimum two years of leadership experience.
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
Preferred :
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
