About the Role:
We're on the hunt for a dynamic Tax Manager to join the hive on behalf of our clients. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing a diverse tax portfolio, providing strategic tax guidance, and preparing and reviewing federal and state tax returns. You'll also play a pivotal role in filing business, individual, and related tax forms, engaging in various research projects, and driving innovation in tax management. If you're passionate about delivering superior client experiences and have a knack for innovative tax strategies, we'd love to have you on our team!
Your Mission and Supervisory Responsibilities:
Oversee staff who assist with the preparation of returns.
Maintain and enhance client and staff relationships.
Prepare and review business and individual tax returns.
Provide tax planning and projections for clients.
Conduct research on tax issues and offer process improvement recommendations.
Maintain knowledge of changes in tax law and educate others within the firm.
Stay updated on changes in tax law by reading professional literature or attending tax seminars and training courses.
Consult with clients to develop a basic understanding of their financial affairs and the scope of their tax liabilities.
Respond to client calls and emails in a timely manner.
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, regulators, and industry organizations.
Share expertise on industry knowledge, trends, and best practices within the firm.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
What You Bring:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
CPA or EA certification (open to JD candidates).
At least 8 full busy seasons of experience in tax preparation and review.
Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Strong communication skills with staff and clients.
Capability to manage and develop new staff members.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively as a team player.
Requirements:
Must be a United States citizen or authorized to work in the United States.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Bonus Points For:
Experience with CPA firm operations.
Strong client relationship management skills.
Expertise in tax law research and analysis.
