The Governing Bodies Office (GBO) facilitates the work of the Member States and the Pan American Sanitary Bureau (PASB) in strengthening the governance of PAHO and provides multilingual services of excellence in support of technical cooperation.DESCRIPTION OF DUTIESUnder the general guidance of the Senior Advisor, Governing Bodies Office (GBO), and the direct supervision of the Documentation Specialist, Governing Bodies (GBO), the incumbent is responsible for, but not necessarily limited to, the following assigned duties:Proofread and copy-edit documents of the Governing Bodies, ensuring clarity of content, consistency of terminology and agreement with established standards and procedures, including the PAHO Style Manual.Prepare the formal copy of the documents of Governing Bodies meetings in English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese; review text, tables, graphs, quotations, footnotes, and references.Perform layout work and production of documents, resolutions, and agendas; coordinate production schedules.Responsible for the post-editing phases of production of the official final reports of the Governing Bodies meetings.Compare uniformity of documents in different languages, including translations of modifications.Conduct analysis of documents to identify whether all or parts of text have been taken from previously edited or translated sources.Support the periodical update of the Governing Bodies Webpage and Audio Library.Take notes in special meetings and support the preparation of minutes in English and/or Spanish as needed.Perform other related duties, as assigned.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEducation:Essential:

Certificate of completion of high school.Desirable:

Advanced training in languages, editing and/or publication field would be an asset.Experience:Essential:

Six years of experience in editorial assistance or document/publishing support functions, or administrative work.SKILLS:Overall attitude at work:
