Job Summary:The Core Tax Services Senior Manager is responsible for advising clients on the tax implications of their business objections, evaluating and selecting alternative actions to lessen tax burden and cost of compliance, identifying different methods of complying with tax regulations while acting as the primary client contact for complex tax issues. In this role, the Core Tax Services Senior Manager is charged with applying knowledge to understand potential tax issues, recognizing and communicating potential risks and changes in tax policy, and making top-level decisions regarding filing, preparation, and resolution of questions from federal/state agencies. In addition, the Core Tax Services Senior Manager will be a critical member of the office/region leadership team and actively participate in marketing, networking, and business development within an area of expertise while maintaining client relationships.Job Duties:Tax Compliance

Ensures compliance with all applicable authorities while minimizing tax and reporting burdens.Conducts top-level review of T/R and resolves tax issues with clients.Plans for early recognition of material tax and compliance issues.

Research

Identifies when research is needed and frames issues for analysis.Trains managers/staff on research skills.

ASC 740-10 (FAS 109 and FIN 48) Tax Accruals

Applies Firm policies regarding ASC 740-10 and reviews tax provisions.

Tax Consulting

Develops and implements methods to maximize client benefits.Manages inquiries from federal and state agencies.

Tax Specialization

Develops an understanding of technical and practical issues in taxation.

Strategy Development

Researches and implements tax strategies.

Other duties as requiredSupervisory Responsibilities:Supervises associates and senior associates on projects.Provides performance feedback to associates and senior associates.Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Education:Bachelor's degree required; major in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics preferred.Master's in Accountancy or Taxation preferred.Experience:Eight or more years of relevant tax experience required.Prior supervisory experience required.License/Certifications:CPA certification or equivalent required.Software:Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite preferred.Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Superior verbal and written communication skills.Strong analytical and decision-making skills.Individual salaries are determined after consideration of numerous factors including candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.California Range: $146,000 - $200,000Colorado Range: $120,000 - $185,000NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $150,000 - $199,000Washington Range: $150,000 - $200,000
