JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Applications will lead and manage the company's applications strategy, overseeing the Project Management Office (PMO), Business Intelligence (BI) and Analytics team, ERP team, Application Integrations, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), .Net Development, Business Applications, and Business Relationship Management. This position requires a visionary leader with a proven track record of 15+ years in management, who can drive the development and implementation of innovative solutions to meet business needs and objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership and Strategy:

Develop and execute the strategic vision for the Applications department, aligning with the company's overall business objectives.

Provide leadership and guidance to a diverse team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Ensure the alignment of applications and technology initiatives with the strategic goals of the organization.

Contribute to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department or function in collaboration with senior management.

Establish departmental policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization.

Project Management Office (PMO):

Oversee the PMO, ensuring effective project governance, prioritization, resource allocation, and delivery of IT projects on time, within scope, and budget.

Implement best practices in project management and ensure adherence to project management methodologies.

Business Intelligence and Analytics:

Lead the BI and Analytics team to develop and implement data-driven strategies, providing insights and analytics to support business decision-making.

Promote the use of advanced analytics and business intelligence tools to enhance operational efficiency and competitive advantage.

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP):

Manage the ERP team responsible for the Infor M3 system and legacy ERPs, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and integration with other business systems.

Oversee ERP-related projects, upgrades, and implementations.

Application Integrations and EDI:

Oversee the integration of various business applications and systems, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability.

Manage EDI processes and integrations, supporting efficient electronic transactions with business partners.

Business Applications:

Oversee the portfolio of business applications, ensuring they meet the needs of the organization and are aligned with strategic goals.

Evaluate and implement new applications and technologies to support business processes and drive innovation.

Business Relationship Management:

Act as a liaison between IT and business units, understanding their needs and ensuring IT services and solutions are aligned with business objectives.

Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, providing strategic guidance and support.

Application Software Development:

Direct day-to-day activities within the organization's application software development function.

Oversee the work of a team responsible for designing, building, testing, deploying, maintaining, and supporting applications.

Work to establish functional application requirements and review solutions to ensure organizational needs are met.

Ensure adherence to software development best practices and standards.

Oversee compliance to one or more application development methodologies.

Develop short- and long-term product roadmaps to ensure continuous improvement of applications.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.

Advanced degree preferred.

15+ years of management experience in IT, with a focus on applications development and management.

Extensive experience with the concepts and principles of one or more related fields or departments.

Proven experience leading diverse teams and managing multiple IT functions, including PMO, BI and Analytics, ERP, Application Integrations, EDI, .Net Development, Business Applications, and Business Relationship Management.

Strong understanding of ERP systems; specific experience with Infor M3 is a plus but not required.
