Your role is vital for the development and delivery of our organisational strategy and ensuring our future financial sustainability.You’ll help to identify and maintain relationships with key scientific stakeholders, ensuring a deep understanding of their financial and operating performance.We are looking for someone with a track record in finance and a passion for environmental issues, with the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders and able to drive successful project delivery.You’ll be joining a leading independent, not-for-profit research institute that’s committed to recruiting talented people like you, progressing your career and giving you the support you need to thrive at UKCEH.Reporting to the FP&A Manager your main responsibilities will include:Providing prompt and accurate quarterly financial reporting on science area performanceProviding ad hoc support with analysis and insight to facilitate decision-making and business planningSupporting delivery of budget and forecast, alongside quarterly analytical reviews and longer-term financial planningActing as key contact for project finance queriesManaging ongoing relationships with internal Science and Professional Services budget holders (income/costs/resource), to support delivery of the organisational finance metricsWorking closely with our Project Accounting and Support teams to improve accuracy of accounting on projectsDriving continuous operational change to improve project delivery and process efficiencyFor the role of Finance Business Partner, we’re looking for somebody who has:A recognised professional accountancy qualification e.g., CIPFA, CIMA, ACCAA proactive approach to developing and communicating financial reporting and management informationThe ability to bring a fresh perspective, looking for ways to continuously improveA keen interest in the environment and environmental issuesKnowledge of project delivery and project management methodologiesThe ability to develop and maintain successful relationships with a wide range of stakeholdersExcellent communication and engagement skills, using a collaborative and inclusive approachIf we’ve just described you, we’d love to meet.
