Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Application Modernization Engineer to support the development of architecture and enabling tools for an enterprise application modernization effort. This effort spans 40 applications, including legacy IBM Websphere applications, ArcGIS applications, IIS web applications, and COTS software applications. The successful candidate will have experience with a diverse set of technologies and drive implementation of best practices for application modernization, including containerization, microservices architecture, and cloud-native development.Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Proven experience in application modernization, with a focus on legacy IBM Websphere applications, ArcGIS applications, IIS web applications, and COTS software applications.Strong understanding of modern application architectures, including containerization, microservices, and cloud-native development.Proficiency in database technologies, including IBM DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle.Experience with data migration and integration between modernized applications and existing databases.Familiarity with enabling tools and frameworks for application modernization.Experience in on-demand horizontal scaling and load balancing.Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Experience with cost optimization of AWS services and storage.Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Ability to develop and implement architecture and modernization strategies.Proficiency in modern programming languages and development frameworks (Angular, Node.js, React, Django, etc.).Excellent communication and leadership skills.Experience with Scrum methodology and Agile practices.Possession or ability to obtain and maintain the required favorably adjudicated DHS Public Trust background investigation.Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).Experience with container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Docker).Certification in relevant technologies and platforms (AWS, IBM, Microsoft, Red Hat).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Proactive and self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility.About Business Unit
