The Java Development Engineer - Tech Lead is responsible for leading the techno-functional impact analysis, design & code construction activities associated with development of software releases for the CVS Retail Pharmacy systems. Strong technical, functional, and interpersonal skills are key to perform this role successfully. The current suite of systems includes multiple applications including, but not limited, to the Tier 1 systems for Retail Pharmacy (RxConnect).
In this position you will partner and collaborate with the development manager, business analysts, architects, quality assurance, business partners, developers, and project managers in order to deliver business change and innovation into our Java based business applications software. You will also be involved throughout the entire development life cycle of a product and must be able to deliver an efficient solution, as well as identify and properly mitigate any risks to the product before deployment to production.
To be successful in this position you will need:
Development experience for projects delivered via Waterfall, Agile, and/or XP methodologiesProven experience as a software Designer and Developer in understanding business requirements and translating into software solutionsKnowledge of advance object-oriented design and design patternsSound skill in Swing MVC architecture design patterns and multi-threadingExceptional ability to work in a high-pressure environmentStrong background on Web Services (SOAP, REST), JMS, J2EE and/or Spring frameworksWorking knowledge of XML, XSL, XSD, XSLT, DOM, JAXB and XMLBeansKnowledge of build/dependency management tools such as Maven, SCM (Subversion, GIT)Knowledge of open source packages especially those provided by Apache, Google, and SpringJMS with IBM WebSphere MQ series platformA minimum of 1 year successfully working in IT projects in an Agile development methodologyPay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:Minimum: 75,000Maximum: 167,000

3+ years of professional IT experience3+ years software coding and requirement analysis, design experience3+ years Java programming knowledge - JDK 1.7/1.83+ years Development experience for projects delivered via Waterfall, Agile, and/or XP methodologies3+ years experience in Java Swing, AWT, SWT and Core Java development to develop client side components1+ years background on web and application servers such as Tomcat, Weblogic or comparable J2EE servers3+ years Database knowledge - Oracle 11g or higher, MySQL or MariaDB, Oracle PL/SQL, Data Modeling conceptsPreferred Qualifications
