Join our world-class team today!Position Specific DescriptionWe are currently seeking a Solar Resource Analyst to contribute to the design and development of solar energy centers. In this role, your primary responsibilities will be to work among multi-disciplinary project teams to numerically model solar resource, design optimized solar site layouts, estimate long-term power production, and communicate results to upper management in support of investment decisions. In addition, this position offers abundant opportunities for collaboration on both short and long-term process improvements, new product development, as well as cross-functional engagement to optimize solar designs to customer needs. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical problem-solving skills, an inherent passion for renewable energy, strong independent decision-making skills, and the drive to grow professionally.Job Overview

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Reviews on-site meteorological data from various sensing devicesSets up, monitors, and analyzes numerical weather models (both meso- and micro-scale) to accurately understand the long-term energy resource across a given areaSets up and executes in-house software and prediction tools to translate the long-term resource into energy production for a wide variety of equipment configurationsPerforms geospatial analysis using ArcGIS software and other industry-standard tools to identify locations with maximum energy output and minimal impact to local land useCollects and filters operational dataReviews electrical and structural drawings of commercial and/or utility scale wind and/or solar farmsAnalyzes system energy loss due to wiring, transformers, soiling, snow, etc.Diagnoses operating assets for plant optimizationProvides investment due diligence and financing supportApplies technical knowledge in support of new product developmentProvides site intelligence and field services, including construction screening, on-site instrumentation audits, and shading analysesProvides meteorological instrumentation and siting recommendationsPrepares written reports and presentations for both internal and external customersTravels to project sites to collect data, assists in permitting and community outreach, and participates in industry conferences; travel expectancy is between 5% and 25% of timePerforms other job-related duties as assignedRequired Qualifications
