As the Director of Financial Accounting at Swope Health, you will lead a team of accounting professionals that help the organization reach its financial objectives. The Director will lead the Accounting department in daily operations to ensure exceptional service in processing all financial transactions, including accounts payable and general ledger. You will regularly analyze key business metrics, offering strategic problem-solving to drive results while upholding company values. Additionally, you will set standards and participate in training and developing department personnel to maintain high productivity levels.

Primary Responsibilities:

Manages and leads the accounting services team in all daily accounting functions, including invoice and check processing, General Ledger, Financial statements, Form 1099, payroll taxes, and escheatment compliance.

Provides overall leadership and support to the accounting services team including proactive guidance, troubleshooting support, issue escalation, and employee development.

Ensures that all invoice transactions are processed and paid timely and accurately, while procedures are maintained for the collection, filing, and processing of accounts payable invoices and payments, ensuring compliance with service level agreements.

Monitors the monthly close of accounts payable and all other general ledger records.

Responsible for the establishment and effectiveness of internal controls.

Adheres to the financial objectives within Swope Health by assisting in the preparation of the annual budget, monitoring costs, and analyzing variances.

Manages annual corporate audit and participates in other internal and external audits as needed.

Prepares and oversees various grant budgets for submission to various grantors. Prepares and oversees reporting requirements and manages monthly grant revenue.

Successful Candidates will have:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration

Master’s degree or CPA certification

8 years of progressive management and/or consulting experience in a healthcare environment, of which 5 of those years should be in accounting or accounts payable management

Knowledge of Federal, state, and local healthcare financial activities regulations.

Proficiency with computer and software applications used in job functions (accounting, databases, spreadsheets, power points, reporting and querying, etc.)

Experience

8 year(s): Progressive management and/or consulting experience in a healthcare environment is required, of which 5 of those years should be in accounting or accounts payable management

Education

Bachelors or better in Accounting or related field
